Why a Health Coach?

I am a Registered Nurse and a Health Coach.  My 24 years of nursing experience includes Rehabilitation/RTW and Occupational Health.  My favorite part of nursing has always been education; providing the tools and information to assist with important behavioral changes which improve quality of life.  It didn’t matter if it was to prepare someone to return to work after an injury or to help them understand how to manage their diabetes after being newly diagnosed. Aiding in these transitions felt rewarding and motivated me to help others.  

After going through a huge transition in my own life, I decided to become a health coach to exclusively focus on the journey towards living my own healthy life and helping others accomplish the same. In my mid forties I began to experience the effects of hormonal imbalances, slowing metabolism and stress. I tried so many quick fix diets, supplements and exercise regimens which always fell short. I was still gaining weight and unhappy. I realized I needed a holistic approach to my health and wellbeing. I had to change my mindset and behaviors, not just pound out a few miles on the road or eat pineapple for a week straight. This is where my life began to change, where I began to change. I believe the journey to self improvement lasts a lifetime. I am committed to myself and to you!
